Williamson Award -Troop 75Troop 75 awards H.C. Williamson Award (ARTICLE SUBMITTED BY KERRI JEU)
This year's award was presented to Troop Quartermaster Bob Harding. Like many of the candidates, his entrance to the Troop came through Pack 75 in the Fall of 2000. Mr. Harding volunteered to serve as a Den Leader when the need arose for a replacement. When the Webelos he led crossed over to Troop 75, he immediately volunteered for another position of leadership, that of Troop Quartermaster. He has taken personal interest in Scouts other than his own son to help them try and reach specific Scouting goals. He has served on Boards of Review numerous times for the Scouts of Troop 75. He helped arrange and execute some of the most memorable hikes the Troop has ever been on - those through downtown Memphis where we learned about our rich heritage and history. Mr. Harding helped the Troop bounce back, twice, from the theft of our Troop's Trailers and the equipment stored inside by insuring that we were prepared for the next campout with the necessary equipment and a way to haul it. He has been a loyal supporter for his fellow leaders. And, one of the common threads between this leader and all the other candidates is that this man has always gone out of his way to answer "yes" whenever he's been asked to do anything for the Troop. Most importantly, Mr. Harding is a Memphian that cares for others in his community, and particularly and hopefully, some of our young, future leaders - Scouts throughout the Chickasaw Council.
