Scouting For Food - Nov. 17 The Chickasaw Council's annual Good Turn Project to help collect food for needy families in our communities. Scouts collect non-perishable food items for the Memphis Food Bank and other local food pantries. In recent years, the Memphis Food Bank has distributed tons of food and grocery items to over 300 charitable agencies. These agencies include emergency food pantries, soup kitchens, homeless shelters, alcohol and drug rehabilitation programs and daycare centers for children, the elderly and disabled individuals.
Scouts distribute bags on Saturday, November 10 th and Pick up bags on Saturday, November 17th.

Friends of Scouting Reaches Goal!
Thunderbird District has met its 2007 FOS Campaign goal of $120,000. Congratulations go out to FOS Chairman, James McLaren; Finance Chairman, Jack Straton. And, it could not have happened without the blood, sweat and tears of our great District Executive, Jeremy Palazola. Thanks!! | |
BSA LOGO CONTEST
Every contest participant will receive a special patch and certificate from the Boy Scouts of America National Council recognizing their contribution to this important effort. Further, participation fulfills one of the requirements for the Graphic Arts merit badge.
Winners in each of the five categories will be honored at the upcoming May 2008 Boy Scouts of America Annual Meeting, with travel and accommodations provided by the Boy Scouts of America.
