Welcome to the Thunderbird District

Scouts at the Camporee d The Thunderbird District serves all of the Memphis, TN area within the I-240 loop and Hollywood on the western border.

There are several ways to join a unit in our district. You may attend a School Night, a Council wide event, held at the beginning of the school year to introduce prospective scouts to the scouting programs available in their area. Prospective scouts and their parents are given the opportunity to visit different scouting units and meet with the unit leaders to review the programs available. You may also just call the scout office at 901-327-4193 and ask them for a unit in your area.

Cub Scouts are boys ages 6-10.
Boy Scouts are boys ages 11-17.
Venturers are boys OR girls ages 14-20.

THUNDERBIRD DISTRICT NEEDS COMMISSIONERS!
Could you provide a few service hours a month as a commissioner for the Thunderbird District?
  • Are you experienced in charter renewals?
  • Can you visit district units to coach units to achieve the Quality Unit Award?
  • Do you enjoy meeting other Scout leaders and learning about other unit's outings?
  • Do you enjoy sponsoring District Roundtable events?
    A goal for each unit is to sponsor a commissioner to provide service to the Thunderbird District. If you are interested in service as a commissioner, please call Martin Wade 901.216.6792.
    Volunteers Needed! JEFF GOSS IS LOOKING FOR BOY SCOUT AND VENTURING VOLUNTEERS TO HELP WITH LIFE JACKET DONATION CENTER AT BASS PRO SHOPS ON THE WEEKEND OF MAY 16-18. CONTACT MR. GOSS AT 662-449-7757 OR BASSHOG1G@YAHOO.COM, FOR TIMES AND DETAILS.YOU MAY ALSO SEE IF HE COULD USE CUB SCOUTS AS LONG AS PARENTS ARE THERE TO HELP AS WELL. THIS IS A GREAT EVENT FOR US TO HELP WITH, AS THE DONATIONS WILL BENEFIT THE LOCAL BOY SCOUTS AND GIRL SCOUTS.
